Atlético Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has left the future of João Félix uncertain, despite promising the Portuguese forward a place in the team if he returns to the club after his loan spell. Speaking in a recent interview, Cerezo stated that in football, nothing can be taken for granted, and they do not know what will happen next. Félix has been on loan at English Premier League club Chelsea since January 2022, and his future beyond the end of the season remains uncertain. Despite showing glimpses of his potential, Félix has not yet lived up to his hefty price tag, which saw him become one of the most expensive players in Atlético Madrid’s history.
