Manchester United’s coach, Erik ten Hag, has confirmed that the club is eager to extend goalkeeper David de Gea’s contract, which is set to expire in June. Ten Hag expressed that de Gea is a critical part of the team’s plans, and negotiations for a new deal are currently progressing. However, the new contract may come with a reduced salary for the Spanish goalkeeper. In addition to this, Man Utd is also reportedly looking to bring in a new goalkeeper as a backup option for next season, with Stoke City’s Jack Butland as a possible target. Despite the search for a new goalkeeper, ten Hag assures fans that de Gea will remain at the club.
